Looney Tunes Back in Action-1 by DaveAlvarez Looney Tunes Back in Action-1 by DaveAlvarez
Now this was a very interesting and peculiar project. I read almost four versions of the script for the movie and saw every single storyboard that was made for it. The first script was funnier, even tough the movie's final version looked GREAT! The curious thing is that we were working on the comic book adaptation while the movie was being filmed and animated at the same time!
We were sitting at the edge of our seats 24-7! Why? Because they were changing the scenes almost on a daily basis. I got addicted to Red Bull drinks and I never heard Joan Hilty's voice so many times in one day for almost two-three months!
My job was to keep the Looney Tunes look loyal to the model sheet while the Duendes Studio took charge of the 'real' characters.
Here's one of the LTBIA pages

This was my favorite LT movie. I don't know why they thought it was bad. It seemed more like a Looney Tunes movie than Space Jam did.

Sadly, Looney Tunes Back in Action was a large box office flop.

I came past some of you WB drawings, and I thought the style looked really familiar! I only own one WB comic book, which I found in a second hand store. I opened it out of curiousity and to my surprise I found a comic drawn by Carl Barks! (although the faces of the main characters do not appear to be drawn by him) Really weird to see WB comics drawn by three well known Disney artists. Anyway, out of the modern comics in that book, there were three I liked best, and now it turned out you drew them :) I liked them best because they are very expressive and full of life, you did a great job on that! The trouble I have with WB comics is that they are too 'modern' to my taste, and I simply dislike the newer looks of the characters. Did you ever do some drawings using the older versions of the characters? I'd love to see them!
Disney also uses new versions of their characters on merchandise, but the comics that are made in the Netherlands and some other countries are based on the old cartoons, comics, and mainly the works by Carl Barks and Floyd Gottfredson, so there a whole different atmosphere to them.
Are there any WB characters that are only used in comics, like in the Disney ones?
Sorry for my long comment, and keep up the great artwork :)

great looney artwork. I actually enjoyed that movie. Sure, it could of been better, as most people have noted already. But, I'm always checking out anything that has the Looney Tunes in it. Especially Bugs Bunny. My favorite wascally wabbit.

Oh now I want to see the movie! lol You know they just need a LT movie that just has toons, it's the real life actors that kill it because it creates a different atmosphere than that which existed in the originals. A full on toon movie with WB cameos from here to the moon! XD Aw that would be great.
