YENNY'S ANIMATION PAGE:
[link]If you've been following my art posts then you know what's going on. If you haven't and the only thing you check on these Deviantart pages is the journals then....WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, MAN???
So, yeah, as I mentioned before, I've been very picky with the idea of looking for a publishing company for printing Yenny.
After what happened with Alias I decided to stay only online and maybe publish a few comics for special presentations. Those who went to Texas' Wizard World and got a copy of Yenny's "Dias de Universidad" comic book have a very unique issue on your hands. So unique not even I have a copy...sigh...
This past experience with Alias made me think about how careful one has to be before choosing to join a publishing company.
I'm not saying that I have enemies at Alias now or that I disagree with their sudden change of format. On the contrary; I have a very good relationship with them. But being wise about choosing who's gonna publish your book is extremely important.
I was looking at the 2006 San Diego Comic Con booth guide that they give you on front and I saw hundreds of independent and new publishing houses. All of them promoting their work and some of them even "evaluating portfolios"..
Be careful and be wise. Check the company's background before saying yes to anything.
Now about Shadowline; this is what's happening:
Alias previous sudden change of format that lead to a quick cancel of all their titles left those who where published by them with a big question mark printed on our foreheads. The problem with this is that other companies just see you as a "cancelled book" when actually it wasn't that way.
This makes looking for another comic book house a little more difficult than before.
In the looks of that, that's why I decided to stay low for a while. That's our second lesson for today kids, If for some reason your reputation is hurted then stay low for a while and let the waters calm down.
It was a few weeks ago when I got a chance to talk to Jim Valentino and he also had the same reaction; "I like this a lot but why should I re-publish a cancelled title?" "What happened to Yenny's books?" So I told him the whole story and he decided to give Yenny a try on their webpage to get the readers reaction first and eventually talk about print.
What can I say; My being on this business had teach me to be loaded with tons of patience. I think the good Lord put a few extra gallons of it in my system when he knew I was going to work in comics and animation.
Patience is the key. Do you have what it takes to be here?
IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO:
1)Go to
[link] 2) Visit the webcomics section.
3)Check their forums and shaer your thoughts about Yenny
